What does Resemblee do?
It compares the photos you upload and ranks which selected relative has the closest visual resemblance to the child in those particular photos.
Does it prove a biological relationship or parentage?
No. The result is for entertainment only and cannot verify DNA, genetics, parentage, identity, or any family relationship.
What does a score such as 91% mean?
It is a bounded visual-similarity display value, not a 91% probability, DNA percentage, identity confidence score, or scientific accuracy claim.
Who counts as the closest match?
The closest match is the highest visual similarity only among the relatives you uploaded for that comparison.
How is the score calculated?
Usable photos are converted into normalized face representations, combined into quality-weighted templates, ranked by cosine similarity, and mapped to a user-friendly 0–100 entertainment score.
What does result confidence mean?
It summarizes photo quality, the winner’s lead, and consistency when multiple usable photo pairs are available. A fixed stability baseline is used when only one pair is available. It does not describe identity confidence or biological certainty.
What do the eye-spacing and face-shape details mean?
They summarize detector geometry: landmark spacing and positions for the eyes, nose, and mouth, plus face-box proportions for face shape. They are not ArcFace explanations and do not describe genetics, eye color, identity, or inherited traits.
Why can results change with different photos?
Age, pose, expression, lighting, crop, focus, and camera quality all influence visual comparisons.
How can I get a more consistent result?
Use clear, front-facing photos with even lighting, keep the full face visible, and add two or three varied photos for each person when possible.
What happens to uploaded photos?
They are processed in randomly named temporary request storage and deleted after detection or comparison, including error paths. Face representations are not returned or logged.
Are photos used to train a model?
No. Uploaded photos and face representations are not used to train a model.
Can I add relatives from a group photo?
Yes. The group importer detects faces, lets you select people, and creates individual editable relative entries with cropped photos.
What is stored when I create a private result link?
With separate consent, the generated result card—which can visibly contain faces, names, relationships, and the score—and minimal lifecycle metadata are stored for up to seven days. That metadata includes the share ID, locale, creation and expiry times, and a hash of the deletion token. Original uploads and face representations are not stored with it.
Who can open or delete a private result link?
Anyone with the unguessable bearer link can view it until expiry or deletion. The creator receives a separate deletion token for early deletion.
Can this identify a stranger?
No. It does not search an identity database. It only ranks the people whose photos you chose to include, and it should not be used for identification.
What is Future Look?
It is a separate creative experience that uses one portrait, a choice of 5, 10, 15, or 20 years ahead, and a natural or storybook preset to create one AI-generated possibility.
Can I use my own photo?
Yes. Any adult can upload their own portrait. You may also use a photo you have permission or authority to use—your child’s photo, for example.
Does Future Look predict how someone will really look?
No. It creates a fictional interpretation for fun. It is not a prediction, biometric identity result, medical or developmental assessment, or scientific age-progression analysis.
What happens to a Future Look photo and result?
After photo-use confirmation and processor consent, the original is queued privately only as needed and deleted immediately after the generation attempt. The output is available under a random private token for the configured short retention period, currently 30 minutes, and can be deleted sooner. Resemblee does not reuse either image to train its own models.
Why might Future Look be unavailable?
The feature stays off until a configured image processor and required child-data safeguards are in place, including confirmed zero data retention when applicable to personal data of children under 13 or the applicable digital age of consent. Capacity and daily safeguards may also pause new requests.
Do I need permission to upload children’s photos?
Yes. Upload only photos you are authorized to use. A parent or responsible adult should make decisions about children’s images.
