Legal and privacy information

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Resemblee handles the family photos and information you provide.

Effective September 6, 2026

What we process

For family comparisons, we process the photos, names, relationship labels, crop selections, and face-detection results you provide. When Future Look is enabled, we process one selected photo, the chosen number of years, a fixed visual style, the required adult and processor confirmations, and a random private-job token. You can use either experience without creating an account.

How photos are used

Comparison photos are used only to detect faces, create temporary facial embeddings, calculate visual-similarity scores, and display your result. They are not used to train or improve a model, identify people, or verify biological relationships.

A Future Look photo is used only to create the requested imaginative result through the configured image processor. Resemblee does not reuse the original or generated image to train its own models. Future Look is an AI-generated possibility, not a prediction, identity result, or scientific age-progression analysis.

Temporary storage and deletion

The browser keeps selected and cropped photos in memory while an experience is open. The analysis service writes comparison uploads to a randomly named temporary request directory and deletes that directory after detection or comparison, including error paths.

For Future Look, the original is placed in a private queue only as needed and is deleted immediately after the generation attempt. The generated result is held under a random private token for the configured short retention period, currently 30 minutes, then deleted automatically. The creator can delete it sooner. A cleanup task also removes abandoned jobs and temporary directories after their configured retention windows.

If you separately choose to create a private result link for either experience, only the generated result-card image and minimal lifecycle metadata are stored for up to seven days. A Family Match card can visibly contain cropped faces, names, relationships, and a score; a Future Look card contains the generated portrait and selected timeframe. Original uploads and face embeddings are not stored with the shared card.

Anyone with the unguessable bearer link can view the card until it is deleted or expires; the link is not protected by an account login. The creator receives a separate deletion control. A messaging or social service may fetch and retain its own image preview under its policies after you share the link.

Service providers

The web application is hosted by Vercel and face analysis runs on a separately hosted server. Uploads may pass through internet and hosting infrastructure needed to deliver the service. These providers may process technical request information under their own terms and policies.

Future Look also sends the selected photo to the image processor configured by the operator, but only after a separate processor consent. The feature remains disabled until that processor and the required child-data protections are configured, including confirmed zero data retention when applicable to personal data of children under 13 or the applicable digital age of consent. Provider handling is limited by the safeguards in the deployed configuration; we do not claim protections that have not been configured and verified.

Local preferences and first-party telemetry

The selected language, analytics choice, and private-link deletion token are saved in your browser’s local storage. Separately, session storage (sessionStorage) saves one true-or-false marker in each browser tab so first-party telemetry can count that tab session once. The marker stays in the tab; Resemblee does not create or transmit a session ID, visitor ID, or other persistent identifier. The application does not require advertising cookies or user accounts.

At session start, the browser reduces context to three approved categories: language (English or Arabic), coarse viewport class (mobile, tablet, or desktop), and coarse source (direct, internal, search, social, or other). The full referrer hostname and URL are never sent. Product stages, result actions, and failures are likewise limited to fixed categories; free-form browser error messages are not telemetry.

Resemblee’s first-party telemetry stores only daily aggregate counts and approved technical categories in PostgreSQL for up to 400 days. It does not collect photos, names, embeddings, IP addresses, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, query strings, or private-result identifiers. Operational logs may contain request timing and status but are designed not to log image contents or facial embeddings.

Optional Google Analytics

Where configured, Google Analytics remains off until you choose Allow analytics. After consent, Google may place analytics cookies and receive limited browser, device, network, and public-page interaction data under Google’s terms and privacy policy. Advertising signals are disabled, and the site does not load the Google tag before consent.

Resemblee sends only normalized public page paths, a fixed list of feature events and their approved categorical details, and normalized campaign labels when a landing link has one complete valid set. Before consent, those campaign labels remain only in page memory. They are limited to source, medium, campaign, optional campaign ID, and optional content. We discard and do not send full query strings, campaign terms, ad click IDs, duplicate or invalid values, uploaded photos, names, face data, private result links or tokens, form entries, filenames, and free-form errors. Admin and private-result pages are excluded.

Your choice is stored in local storage. You can decline or withdraw it through Analytics choices in the footer. Withdrawal stops future Google Analytics events, clears pending campaign labels, and removes Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site.

People, children, and permission

Adults may use their own photo. For any other person, upload a photo only when you have permission or authority to use it. If the photo shows a child, only a parent, legal guardian, or other authorized adult may provide it. Future Look requires confirmation of photo-use authority and separate consent to the configured image processor.

Your choices

You can remove or replace photos before processing, close or reset an experience to release browser previews, and choose not to proceed. A Future Look result can be downloaded or deleted immediately and otherwise expires automatically after the configured short retention period. For either experience, creating a separate private result-card link is optional and requires a separate checkbox; you can delete that link immediately or let it expire after seven days.

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or computer system can be guaranteed completely secure. This policy may be updated as the service changes; the effective date above will be revised when that happens.
