Plain-language summary
Privacy and safety, in plain language
This page summarizes the product’s data lifecycle and safety boundaries. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use remain the controlling documents.
Permission comes first
Upload only photos you are allowed to use. A parent or responsible adult should make decisions about photos of children. The review step requires confirmation before comparison.
What stays in your browser
Selected, normalized, and cropped photos remain in browser memory while the comparison is open. Preview addresses are revoked when photos are removed, replaced, reset, or the wizard closes.
Temporary server processing
Detection uploads are deleted after each detection request. Comparison uploads use randomly named temporary request directories that are deleted on success and error paths. Face representations remain in request memory and are not logged or returned. A cleanup task removes abandoned temporary directories after the configured window, currently 30 minutes.
Photos are not used for model training
Original uploaded photos and face representations are not added to a training dataset. The service uses them only to complete the requested detection or comparison.
Future Look has a separate private lifecycle
Future Look remains disabled until a configured image processor and required safeguards are in place, including child-data protections and confirmed zero data retention where applicable. An adult must separately confirm that the photo is their own or that they have permission or authority to use it, then consent to the external processing step.
- The original is queued privately only as needed and deleted immediately after the generation attempt.
- The generated result is held under a random private token for the configured short retention period, currently 30 minutes, and can be deleted sooner.
- Resemblee does not reuse the original or result to train its own models.
- The output is an AI-generated possibility, not a prediction.
Optional private result links
Only after separate consent, the generated PNG result card and minimal lifecycle metadata are stored for up to seven days. The metadata consists of the share ID, locale, creation and expiry times, and a hash of the deletion token. The card itself can visibly contain cropped faces, names, relationships, and a score. Original uploads and face representations are not stored with it.
- Anyone with the unguessable bearer link can view the card until it is deleted or expires.
- The creator receives a deletion token and can delete the card early.
- The link is not protected by an account login.
- Messaging and social services may retain their own preview copy under their policies after you share the link.
First-party aggregate product statistics
Resemblee records allowlisted daily event totals and short sanitized technical error categories, configured for retention for up to 400 days. To count one directional session per browser tab, session storage (sessionStorage) keeps a single true-or-false marker inside that tab. The marker is not sent to Resemblee, and no session ID, visitor ID, or other persistent identifier is created or transmitted. This first-party store does not intentionally include photos, names, face representations, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers. Hosting and network providers may still process ordinary technical request information under their own operational policies.
Optional Google Analytics
When configured, Google Analytics loads only after you allow analytics. It receives normalized public page paths, a fixed set of feature events, and ordinary analytics information about the browser, device, and network. It never receives uploaded photos, names, face data, private result IDs or links, form entries, filenames, query strings, or free-form errors from Resemblee.
- Advertising signals and automatic interaction tracking are disabled.
- Admin and private-result pages are excluded.
- You can decline or withdraw consent through Analytics choices in the footer.
Responsible use
Do not use Resemblee to identify strangers, investigate parentage, make consequential decisions, harass or discriminate, or infer medical, genetic, or protected personal information.
For complete terms, read the formal Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
